LOADBALANCING / Multi WAN
Multi-WAN functionality enables the use of multiple Internet connections, with load balancing and/or failover, for improved Internet availability and bandwidth usage distribution.
Server load balancing is used to distribute load between multiple servers. This is commonly used with web servers, mail servers, and others. Servers that fail to respond to ping requests or TCP port connections are removed from the pool.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) Server
Connect safely to your Office Network and work as if oyu are in your office from anywhere in the world.
IPsec allows connectivity with any device supporting standard IPsec. This is most commonly used for site to site connectivity to other Pangolino installations and most all other firewall solutions (Cisco, Juniper, etc.). It can also be used for mobile client connectivity.
OpenVPN is a flexible, powerful SSL VPN solution supporting a wide range of client operating systems.

VLAN / Traffic Shaping
Traffic shaping ensures that users do not consume more bandwidth than they should. The pangolino firewall includes an integrated traffic shaping module that enforces upload and download limits. This setting could be used, for instance, to assign more bandwidth for VOIP handsets
VLANs are created to provide segmentation and assist in issues like security, network management and scalability. Traffic patterns can also easily be controlled by using VLANs.
The key benefits of implementing VLANs include:
- Making expansion and relocation of a network or a network device easier
- Decreasing the latency and traffic load on the network and the network devices, offering increased performance

CAPTIVE PORTAL
The Captive Portal function in pangolino allows securing a network by requiring a username and password (or only a click through), entered on a portal page.
If authentication is used, this can be performed using pangolino’s built-in user management, or an external authentication server such as a RADIUS server.
